Advanced Teacher Training Module 1:
Creating Balance: Embracing Eastern Methods

This program is also available for anyone interested in enriching their life through a self-development program based on many sacred teachings of the East! Here you will learn, practice & discover how to create balance in your own life with respect to the following:

  • Sadhanas (enrichment practices)
  • Koshas (sheaths of existence)
  • 5 Pranas (vital life energies)
  • Chakra System
  • Chinese Meridian System

For those 200 hour yoga teachers, this program is module 1 of the advanced training, and contains 100 hours. An added benefit: Enrollment into this program for teacher training gives you unlimited monthly yoga pass for the duration of the program! (For teachers who have previously taken this program, new components can be taken as CEU's - inquire with Tracey)

For those who are not yoga teachers, the self-development portion of this program is still nearly 50 hours and packed with lots of practical information and practice to get you re-aligned. Interested parties should contact Tracey for pricing and additional information.

Advanced Teacher Training Module 2:
Enhancing Knowledge of the 5 Types of Yoga

There are 5 types of yoga. In the advanced training (for those who already have a 200 hour certification in either Hatha or Vinyasa styles), 200 hour module, we will increase your knowledge while honing your teaching skills with feedback, lecture and practice in these 5 types of yoga:

  • Hatha (the body & mind). Discover the different branches of Hatha yoga, learn advanced anatomy, discuss common yoga injuries and how to avoid them as well as how to use yoga to help others recover from physical issues. Develop your own asana practice, and learn the art of sequencing for Gentle, Hatha (all levels) and Vinyasa styles.
  • Jnana (knowledge & wisdom). Continue to understand the sacred texts that inspire the practice of yoga, meditation and ritual. A section on Sanskrit, Vedas, Upanishads, Koshas, and Earth-based spirituality and the origins of yoga round out this section.
  • Raja (the mind & universe). The area of Raja yoga (in addition to other areas) will be inspired by a weekend Yoga & Meditation retreat (TBA Friday night - Sunday afternoon).
  • Karma (selfless action). Design and develop a volunteer yoga class or project that speaks to you, under the guidance of your teacher.
  • Bhakti (opening the heart to the divine). Yoga, in the end, is a spiritual practice. Develop a spiritual lifestyle that works for you and your beliefs, infusing the yogic pathways.

In addition to our regular meetings, in this module of the advanced program, the trainee will be required to complete the following:

  • 1. Home Study
    There are approximately 50 Home Study Hours required. These include study and practice of the principles taught in class as well as take-home tests, readings, structuring classes, essays and written hand-in homework.
  • 2. Practice Teachings
    Students must complete six practice teachings at One Yoga & Wellness Center.
  • 3. Assists
    Students must Observe & Assist other teachers six times.
  • 4. Private Instruction
    Students must meet with the Director – 2 hrs.
  • 5. Weekly Classes
    We require all students to take at least one regular weekly yoga class at One Yoga & Wellness Center. For this module, an UNLIMITED yoga pass is included in the cost.
  • 6. Yoga Intensives
    Students must take two 3 hour Yoga Intensives class

500 Hour Training Schedule

Schedule A
a. Meets one full weekend per month as follows:
Friday: 6 pm – 9 pm
Saturdays: 12 noon – 6 pm
Sundays: 9 am – 5 pm

b. Meets one additional 9 hr day, one weekend a month.

c. Students must take one weekly yoga class at One Yoga Center.

a. Meets one day a week for 27 weeks, from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm

b. Meets one Saturday per month for 6 months, from 12pm - 6pm

c. Meets one Sunday per month for 6 months, from 9pm - 5pm

Schedule B does not include one weekly yoga class at One Yoga & Wellness Center.

Pre-requisite
Students must already have a 200 Hour Teacher Training Certificate with a Yoga Alliance approved school. Director may ask for supporting documents to verify programs of study with your school. At this leve,l there is a huge commitment to not only the practice of yoga, but the yoga lifestyle.
